• Welcome

    M. Jules Aedin is an author of queer fiction with more ideas for stories than xe knows what to do with. Check back often for updates and web exclusives. (Or not so often. You might get disappointed if you check back TOO often. Some of us are busy, you know.)

    Update: May 17, 2011
So I’m really bad at updating the website, as most of you probably know by now. Paper Planes is available for purchase at Loose Id, and it will be going up on the Bookshelf page soon. For now, just follow the link by clicking on the title back there.

I’ve gotten lots of lovely feedback already from people, and thank you so much! Because I can’t figure out how to reply to messages left through this website — I’m brilliant like that — I’ll go ahead and answer a question here that’s come up. Some people have taken the use of “sie” (in the bar scene) as a mistype for “she,” but it isn’t. Sie is one of many variations of gender neutral pronouns used for people who identify as some form of genderqueer or third gender. If you’d like to learn more about gender neutral pronouns, there’s a crash course and a table of pronouns in use on Wikipedia, at this link.

    Update: February 28, 2011
Okay, since it’s been over a year since I had any real news… I apologize! I’m working on getting more information on the site, things like that. I do have some news, though: I have a work contracted at Loose Id that is currently scheduled to release on May 3. It’s an m/m contemporary by the name of Paper Planes, and it features a photographer and a pilot finding love after personal tragedy.

I’ve got several other things in the pipeline, including an m/m/m (yes, a polyamorous relationship :) ) and an m/f mystery/suspense/action-adventure type thing. For those of you who remember when I said I didn’t have any stories in me that aren’t LGBT, well, that’s still true. My heroine in the m/f adventure is bisexual (the B exists!) and her ex-girlfriend plays a role in the story. I hope you’ll give it a shot. :)

    Update: February 20, 2010

Well, first things first, Can’t Hurry Love is out at Dreamspinner Press, and a lot of people seem to think it’s a cute, fluffy romp, so if you need something lighthearted, it might be what you’re looking for.

Secondly, I’m having a poll!  I thought it might be fun to do one of those character interview things, but I thought it might be even more fun if you got to pick who I interview and also the questions I ask.  Round One is voting for your interview candidate, and that can be done at my LiveJournal, right here: http://mjaedin.livejournal.com/14346.html.  After we have a winner, I’ll open the floor for questions.  Go Vote and have fun! :)

Update: December 18, 2009: A winter-holiday (okay, fine, specifically Christmas) themed short story in the Windows in Time universe–this time with our 1950s couple, and from a previously-unwritten point of view!–is up on the Free Stuff page. :)  Happy Holidays!

Update: November 19, 2009: Back on October 31, I posted a Halloween short story in the Windows in Time universe on the Free Stuff page.  Keep on an eye on that space around Yule; there will be another freebie up.  Also, I just signed a contract with Dreamspinner Press for a holiday-themed novella to be published around Valentine’s Day.  Watch out for a special excerpt and contest that I’ll post closer to the release.

Update September 27, 2009: Updated Buy Links on Dreamspinner Titles to reflect the new DSP store.  Added short story “Some Kind of Carnival” to the Free Stuff page.
